Milton Barlow

Milton Kirtley Barlow (February 6, 1818 - April 27, 1891) was born in Flemingsburg, Kentucky.

He and his father, Thomas Barlow, are credited for inventing and building the first planetarium in 1851. It was exhibited at the New York World's Fair.

Milton also served in the Civil War for the Confederate Army as Captain of Ordinance under Generals John Hunt Morgan and Abraham Buford.

He died April 27, 1891 in Flemingsburg at the age of 73. He is buried in Lexington Cemetery.
